I’m hoping to write or share some kind of round-up for the year at some point soon. Sometimes a thought drifts in to my head and it seems so clear and simple to say, but then when I try to actually put it into words it suddenly gets too big and I can’t find the edges anymore.
Perhaps it’s because I feel unwell today. Perhaps.
Anyway, I wanted to share the current status of Haru: Book 3 with you…
I’ve finished the Thumbnails for the book, the script is approved and currently being copy-edited, and I’m basically head down working as hard as possible on the art. Which means it’s time to pencil all of the pages. All 300 of them. So far I’ve penciled around 40. So that’s over 10%. So I just need to do what I’ve already done 9 more times. Easy, right? Just 260 to go, then I have to ink them and colour them. Oh gosh. Who am I again? (I joke, while it is a large number of pages to do, it’s such a privilige to be able to work on the books like this, I’m so grateful to be able to do so).
What else? Well, Book 2 is out, everywhere now. If you’ve picked it up already, I hope you like it! I’m really proud of it. I’m going to be painting a window at Mr B’s Emporium in Bath in January, which is very exciting. It’s a truly magical and inspiring shop.
Oh I made a little poster for Book 2… here:
Anyway, I’m going to go and huge my herbal tea and hope my headache gives me a break for the evening. Colds are rubbish.
