Treading forwards, floating or drifting?

Sometimes I find it hard, to put words to paper, to collect thoughts, to look after myself. Small steps. That’s the only way to keep moving. So here we go, this is me taking small steps.

I was recently asked to take part in a panel discussion, at MCM Comic Con London. It was such a pleasure to be alongside Bex Ollerton, Joe Kelly, Rachael Smyth, and Ethan Sacks. They are some of the nicest people to be around.

Also, I’m delighted to announce the Spanish Translation of HARU is coming via Ediciones La Cúpula. This is such an honour and an incredibly exciting moment. To know that soon there will be a French & a Spanish edition, it’s a dream come true. I feel so lucky to find kind hearted people who believe in me and my bird story.

Beyond that, I’ve been working on developing new projects, new books. It’s hard to say if these will become an actual real life book though, as publishing is a strange industry, and there are a lot of hoops to jump through before anything tangible happens. But rest assured, I’m working so very hard. I’m currently colouring some sample pages for something, and I’m trying to push my skill level further at the same time.

Every project is a chance to grow, to explore, to learn. This time, I began by buying some new stationery, some mechanical pencils and different leads, and some new pens. I love stationery, though I always worry I’m missing a trick somewhere. Like, somewhere out there is the definitive pen.

This time of year, everything seems to happen too fast. I feel like I’m slowing down while everything else speeds up. Maybe that’s just getting older.
