It’s been a few months since my last update, no specific reason for that, just summer, business, life, parenthood, stress, and so on.
So where are we at? Well, HARU: Book 1 is with the publisher, Andrews McMeel, proofed, edited, and I think it may even be ready for print. We’re doing two versions, a hardback and a softback version, which is so cool! I can’t wait to see how it turns out!
And since then I’ve written the script for HARU: Book 2, and drawn the thumbnails, and that is currently with my lovely editor at the moment.
So in the meantime, I have actually been working on a new Fantasy Adventure comic called The Eternal Mountain. Written and drawn by me, as usual. This one is about a Ranger Frog named Galli and her journey up a mystical mountain in persuit of revenge. On her way she strikes an unwhitting friendship with a nervous beetle named Mord, who is just trying to reunite with his family. This story is a folktale and parable, and is steeped in British Folklore.
Anyway, that’s the fluff, here’s the front cover of Chapter 1…
I’ll have copies of this at Thought Bubble and The Lakes Comic Art Fest this autumn.
Also it’s worth noting that my self published chapters of Haru will no longer be available to buy online from me as of next month. I should still have some copies at the conventions but I’m stopping selling these in the run up to publication in Spring 2024.
Anyway, thank you for reading! I hope you’re all doing well and that you’ve had a nice summer.
